Janet Broeckel

Janet is a managing director in the Legal Department focusing on litigation and regulatory matters. She joined Goldman Sachs in 2005 and was named managing director in 2006. Prior to joining the firm, Janet was a litigation partner at the law firm of Pillsbury Winthrop LLP in New York, where she specialized in representing corporations and individuals in SEC and SRO regulatory investigations and enforcement proceedings, white collar criminal securities matters, and securities class action defense. Prior to joining private practice, she served in the SEC’s Division of Enforcement in New York. Janet earned a BA in Political Science from the University of Washington in 1987 and a JD from American University, Washington College of Law in 1990.
