Denise Merinar

National Sales Director Truist Wealth

Over her more than 30-year career, Denise has held senior leadership positions over many aspects of the Wealth business including sales, investment advisory and broker-dealer operations. She started her career as a trust officer, focusing on the sale, design and communication of 401(k) plans. Prior to the formation of Truist, Denise served on the executive leadership team of BB&T Scott & Stringfellow, managing the sales platform and an investment advisory division.

As Truist’s National Sales Director, Denise is leading the charge to forge a client and teammate experience that lives up to the Truist purpose – to inspire and build better lives and communities. She oversees a sales process that focuses on financial planning, partnership and a dynamic client experience. Additionally, Denise serves as the executive sponsor for Truist Wealth’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts.

Denise has been actively engaged with SIFMA, serving on various committees throughout the years. She is a current member of the Diversity and Inclusion and Practice Management Committees. She is a past member of the Private Client Group Services Committee, the Marketing Committee and also served on SIFMA’s Investment Education Committee.

As a volunteer, Denise focuses her energy on efforts geared towards education. She is a current board member of the Scott & Stringfellow Educational Foundation.

Denise joined a Truist- predecessor, Scott & Stringfellow, in 2002. She is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in Communication Studies and is also a graduate of the Securities Industry Institute at the Wharton School of Business.
