Claire Rajan is a partner in Allen & Overy’s Litigation group and leads A&O’s Political Law practice. Claire focuses on anti-corruption issues, particularly political law regulation, which broadly refers to the laws that regulate efforts to influence government decision-making, and to prevent or detect corruption or its appearance. Claire advises multinational companies and financial institutions on laws related to campaign finance, lobbying, procurement, “pay-to-play”, government ethics, gifts to public officials, conflicts of interest, placement agents, and foreign influence and compliance. Claire’s experience also includes cross-border litigation, anti-corruption and FCPA investigations, and building, maintaining, and testing compliance programs with respect to political law risk and anti-corruption risk.

Claire’s political law expertise is grounded in her seven years at the Federal Election Commission, conducting investigations and federal appellate and U.S. Supreme Court litigation on constitutional campaign finance issues. Claire is a graduate of UCLA and American University Washington College of Law.
