Ashley Belich is Managing Counsel at Royal Bank of Canada (“RBC”), focusing on Swap Dealer and Security-Based Swap Dealer legal and regulatory issues, advocacy, and interpretation as well as OTC Derivatives structuring matters across Rates, Foreign Exchange, and Credit products. Ms. Belich is also responsible for providing legal support and leadership for the firm’s efforts related to Regulatory Margin Requirements, the Global IBOR Transition, and Global OTC Derivatives Governance. Recently, Ms. Belich took over additional management of RBC’s Macro and Spread legal coverage in the U.S. Previously, Ms. Belich served as the Head of Global OTC Derivatives Advisory for RBC as well as Chief Compliance Officer of the Swap Dealer and Security-Based Swap Dealer. She was also a member of the CFTC’s Global Markets Advisory Committee from 2019 to 2022 and is active in various industry committees. Prior to RBC, Ms. Belich worked at a self-regulatory organization and practiced law, focusing on litigation and arbitration. Ms. Belich received her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law and her B.A. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
