Andy Palmer

Andy is the Deputy Head of ILS Structuring at Swiss Re Capital Markets and is based in London.  In this role, Andy has led the structuring of major non-life and life catastrophe bonds, sidecars and cat derivatives for insurance and reinsurance companies, corporates and public entities.  Prior to joining Swiss Re, Andy worked for Benfield Advisory, which was then to become Aon Benfield Securities.

Andy is currently a member of the U.K. ILS Taskforce, having advised HM Treasury on the implementation of ILS regulations in the U.K., and having previously supported Gibraltar Finance on establishing similar regulations.

Before entering the reinsurance industry, Andy studied Mathematics at the University of Cambridge.
