Abim Thomas

Vice President and Associate General Counsel Fidelity Investments

Abim Thomas is Vice President and Associate General Counsel in the Litigation group at Fidelity Investments.  Prior to Fidelity, Abim was the Head of Global Litigation at Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated.  Prior to Vertex, Abim was a litigation partner at Goodwin Procter where she focused on securities, white collar and commercial litigation.  Prior to Goodwin Procter, Abim served as Deputy Chief Counsel to Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick.  Prior to serving in Governor Patrick’s administration, she was a litigation associate at Ropes & Gray.

Abim is on the Board of Discovering Justice and the Ella Lyman Cabot Trust.  She is the Vice Chair of Massachusetts’ Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers Oversight Committee and serves as a mentor through the Women’s Bar Association’s Women’s Leadership Initiative.  She is a former member of the Boston Bar Association Council and the former President of the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association.  She is also a former Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Fellow.

Abim has been named a Leader in the Law and one of the Top Women of Law by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, a Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine, Top Lawyer by Lawyers of Color, Ida B. Wells Award recipient by Massachusetts Black Women Attorneys and One of the 50 Most Influential Attorneys of Color in Greater Boston by Get Konnected.

Abim is a graduate of Harvard University and Georgetown University Law Center.
