Victor van Hoorn
Victor leads Hume Brophy’s EU financial services government relations and regulatory affairs team. He advises clients in the financial services sector on their engagement with the EU Institutions (European Commission, European Parliament and Council) as well as the EBA and ESMA on complex banking, investment management and financial markets regulatory issues. He focusses particularly on mutual fund managers, alternative investment managers, banks, and institutional investors. Prior to joining Hume Brophy, he worked for several years at Stibbe, a major Dutch & Belgian law firm, advising clients in the banking and asset management industry on EU financial regulations and in particular the AIFMD and UCITS. He is an attorney-at-law admitted to the New York Bar and the Netherlands Bar. He holds an LL.M degree from Georgetown law school for which he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship, a Master degree in International Economic Policy from Sciences Po Paris and an LL.B in European Law from Maastricht University.
