Rick Gallagher is a securities litigation partner in the Litigation & Enforcement group of Ropes & Gray in San Francisco and Silicon Valley. Rick has represented dozens of publicly traded companies and won dismissal of some of the largest investor actions filed in the United States, including recent dismissal of an investor class action against the country’s largest independent broker-dealer firm. Rick also represents private equity firms, mutual funds, hedge funds, investment advisers, and independent broker-dealers in general litigation and regulatory matters. Rick regulatory handles SEC, DOJ, and other government-facing regulatory matters, internal investigations, and has first-chaired civil and criminal jury trials in federal and state courts, in addition to arbitrations. Rick went to college at UC Santa Barbara; went to law school at UC Davis; and spent his judicial clerkship in the US District Court for the Southern District of California.
