Matthew Tubin is Senior Vice President and is the BSA/AML Officer and Senior Compliance Officer at PJT Partners. Matthew is responsible for financial crime in the US, and provides compliance coverage for PJT’s Restructuring and Special Situations Group. Prior to joining PJT, Matthew worked in a variety and roles at RBS Corporate & Institutional Banking. At RBS, Matthew’s most recent responsibilities included providing strategic executive strategic support on a variety of Compliance and Risk Initiatives for Markets business lines. At RBS, Matthew also held a variety of roles in both AML and Compliance before transitioning to Front Office. Prior to joining the financial services industry, Matthew was a postdoctoral researcher at the Lauder Institute and a Senior Fellow in the Management Department at The Wharton School. Matthew was also Senior Analyst and Project Manager at Lustick Consulting where he worked on a variety of political risk modelling projects for the Department of Defense. Matthew received his PhD in political science from the University of Pennsylvania, taught courses at Penn and Drexel University, and helped administer the Christopher H Browne Center for International Politics. Matthew’s academic research focus included pathologies in quantitative financial risk management.
