Revised Standard Formulas to reflect Fannie Mae's release of WALA data information. The Fannie Mae WALA data, which is part of Fannie Mae's new quartile data, will be available after the close of business on November 6, 2000. In an effort to ensure that the market can accommodate this new data with minimal disruption, TBMA's Mortgage- and Asset-Backed Securities Division recommends that Fannie Mae's WALA data for prepayment yield and other calculations should not be used as the standard for analyzing Fannie Mae securities until the second monthly release, which is scheduled for after the close of business on December 6, 2000.

Up through December 6, market participants should treat the November quartile data as a "preliminary release" and thus continue to perform current calculations using Calculated Loan Age ("CAGE"). For all calculations after December 6, market participants should use the available Fannie Mae WALAs as the new standard. (Note that this will include all calculations related to settlements after December 6, regardless of trade date.) If the WALA for a particular security is still unavailable after December 6, market participants should continue to use CAGE for that security.
