Kevin Carroll Tapped for SIFMA’s Office of General Counsel
WASHINGTON, D.C., May 11, 2007 – The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) today announced the appointment of Kevin M. Carroll as managing director and associate general counsel. Carroll will be based in the Washington, D.C. office.
“We are immensely excited to have Kevin join our team,” said Ira Hammerman, SIFMA senior managing director and general counsel. “His diverse legal background specializing in regulatory enforcement and litigation has given him invaluable hands-on experience with the issues most affecting our members. Kevin will be instrumental in SIFMA’s work to ensure a smarter, more efficient regulatory environment for our members.”
Carroll comes to SIFMA after spending four and one-half years in NASD’s Enforcement Department, serving first as a senior attorney and for the past three years as assistant director and counsel. Prior to his time at NASD, Carroll spent a number of years in private practice, including four and one-half years with Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering, gaining valuable experience in their securities enforcement and business transactions practices. In addition to his civilian legal career, Carroll has spent nearly ten years serving in the armed forces as a military intelligence officer in the U.S. Army and as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) officer in the U.S. Army Reserve.
