Event Coverage

Event Overview

SIFMA's 2011 Market Structure Conference gathered together leading industry professionals and regulators to address the changing landscape of the U.S. securities markets and the many regulatory proposals recently issued by, or anticipated from, the SEC, exchanges, and FINRA.  These proposals address all aspects of our market structure, including circuit breakers for single stocks and across markets, access to the markets, hidden liquidity/dark pools, algorithmic trading, high frequency trading, clearly erroneous trades, short sales, and trade reporting requirements.  Speakers and panelists offered a broad range of views and insights from the perspectives of both policy-making and business impact.  Discussions also focused on firms' increasingly innovative business strategies (both buy-side and sell-side) in the face of this changing landscape.
