Supporting the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act

Summary

SIFMA, along with the American Bankers Association (ABA), The Clearing House (TCH), the Consumer Bankers Association (CBA), the Electronic Funds Transfer Association, The Financial Services Roundtable (FSR) and the NACHA-The Electronic Payments Association, provide comments to the U.S. House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence supporting the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act, H.R. 624.  The groups express their support of the bipartisan bill given the legislation would provide important updates and clarifications to the National Security Act to facilitate and increase cyber intelligence information sharing by the private and public sectors. At the same time, it provides essential privacy protections for consumers by limiting the inclusion of consumer data in shared threat information.
