Halfway through the reform process, Financial Regulators including the SEC, CFTC, the Federal Reserve are entering a critical phase of the financial regulatory reform process and rely on input of all market participants to provide information and analysis to help the regulators craft rules that work and create certainty while avoiding unintended consequences. The SIFMA dashboard features a snapshot of the most-pressing issues, such as, the Volcker Rule, OTC derivatives regulation, housing finance and securitization, and systemic risk regulation, we have addressed with regulators and our view of pending proposals.  The one-page update also reviews educational events at  SIFMA and other association news.

Dodd-Frank Rulemaking

The Dodd-Frank Act requires an unprecedented two- to five-year rulemaking process where roughly 250 new regulations need to be researched and written by at least a dozen regulatory agencies.
