SIFMA AMG Thought Leadership Event
REGISTRATION CLOSED

The SIFMA Asset Management Group (AMG) Thought Leadership Series is pleased to present a conversation with Brown Brothers Harriman’s Chief Investment Strategist, Scott Clemons. While tracing the history of the “lowly” potato, Clemons illuminates the value of embracing diversity. The human species has a tendency to look for order and reject “randominity,” at times leading to disastrous outcomes. He cites a well-known example: Ireland in the mid-18th century, whose population relied on not only one type of food but also a single variety -- consequences from which the nation is still recovering. Clemons will examine the persistence of patterns within Financial Services, and what we can do to avoid suffering from a similar peril.

Registration:   Please note that this event is open to SIFMA AMG members only, and there is no fee to attend.

Attend in-person or by Webinar | Member: $99 | Non-Member: $149
Register Now

The SEC's proposed rulemakings to modernize data collection will significantly expand the information reported to the SEC by registered investment companies and investment advisers. The reporting reforms are intended to enhance the SEC's ability to monitor portfolio composition and risk exposures among investment advisers, funds and separately managed accounts. SIFMA AMG and AMF support the proposals and believe that the reporting enhancements are a critical step in ensuring appropriate regulation of the asset management industry in the long run. However, there is a substantial amount of work asset managers need to do in order to prepare operationally to comply with the reporting requirements. This lunch and learn will give a brief overview of the proposals, discuss the industry's response to the proposals especially with a view on operational aspects of reporting, and share insights of how asset managers are setting up organizationally to fulfill the reporting requirements.
