Securities firms face challenges today that are unprecedented and growing in both scope and complexity. One critical challenge facing senior management is achieving and maintaining a superior branch office network. Superior branch management is not a luxury - it is crucial to a firm's overall success as it is often the only point of direct contact between a firm and its clients.
Exceptional branch managers are leaders who inspire outstanding performance, promote ethical conduct, develop and advance strategic thinking, and imbue a superior business savvy. Many firms in the securities industry have elevated their branch office networks to new levels of stature within the overall organization. To correspond with this elevation of stature and need, firms require well-trained branch managers as a key element of growth and profitability.
To meet our industry's growing need for outstanding branch leadership, SIA forged an alliance with The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Together, we developed the Branch Management Leadership Institute, a special course of study designed for our uniquely competitive business. Combining world-class faculty with guest speakers, the Institute specifically benefits branch managers with high potential who are ready to develop, refine, and assert a multi-dimensional set of leadership skills.
The 2006 SIA/Wharton Branch Management Leadership Institute, offered November 5-8 on the University of Pennsylvania campus in Philadelphia, is a three-day program beginning on Sunday evening and ending on Wednesday afternoon.
We recognize the crucial role of branch managers in leading change, achieving business growth, and instilling ethical conduct. Accordingly, the Branch Management Leadership Institute concentrates on three major themes:
- Leadership roles, which covers perspectives on: a) client service, b) branch production, c) workforce ethics, and d) regulatory
compliance.
- New business realities, which emphasizes the increased pace of competition, new marketing strategies, and the growing impact of
electronic commerce.
- Leadership challenges, which includes building and sustaining high performance from all branch employees.
The Branch Management Leadership Institute is highly interactive and limited to 35 participants.
Historically, we have found that individual learning is enhanced when
2-4 branch managers from the same firm participate in a single session. We encourage you to nominate your foremost branch managers to
participate in this excellent program.
